Broken Head NSW

Broken Head was a great place to start.  Not far from Byron Bay but without the traffic and congestion so common there these days.  Friends, Marianne and Jeff, invited us to join them as they camped at Broken Head Holiday Park.

Facilities there were clean and well maintained.  The large, open camp kitchen was a great place to meet and eat together.   An onsite kiosk provides ice and some basic supplies.  Handy as it’s a drive to the closest shops.

Although surfing was the main attraction of the area for our group, there are some lovely walks to enjoy also.

While they headed out for an early morning surf, I went for a walk on the Three Sisters walking track.  Came face to face with a startled wallaby and caught a beautiful sunrise along the way.  A vantage point from which to photograph the surfers was located on the way back.
