Phillip Island VIC
Leaving Paynesville we made our way slowly toward Melbourne. Called in to Port Albert which was an important port in the 1850’s gold rush era. We continued on and went up to the wind farm at Toora. We travelled through many small villages and coastal towns, such as picturesque Inverloch, before setting up camp at Dalyston recreation reserve.
We set off early the next morning for Phillip Island. Made breakfast looking out over idyllic Anzacs Beach. Phillip Island is really beautiful and the weather was perfect. I’ve never been there before so it was so great to just take our time and explore.
We had a look at the Grand Prix Circuit, went to Penguin Parade (no penguins in the daytime), had lunch at Cowes as well as walking out to various lookouts and headlands along the way. It was a great day.
